Dr. Edwin Wingkun
Edwin C. Wingkun, M.D, is co-director of the Palm Beach Center for Epilepsy and Chief of Neurology at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, FL. He is dual board certified in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology by the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.
Dr. Wingkun received his Bachelor of Science degree, Magna Cum Laude, and his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. He completed his Neurology residency at St. Louis University in St. Louis, MO, finishing his last year as Chief Resident. He completed his fellowship training in Epilepsy, Sleep Disorders and Clinical Neurophysiology at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH. He was then appointed as Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA., teaching medical students and residents and co-directing the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and Epilepsy Surgery program. Since 1995, Dr. Wingkun has been with Palm Beach Neurology.
Dr. Wingkun has authored several papers in journals such as Epilepsia, American Journal of Clinical Neurophysiology, Stroke and Journal of Southern Medical Association. He also wrote a book chapter in “Epilepsy Surgery”. He is listed in “Best Doctors in South Florida”.
